a false fire burns
torching tender actions
speaking its sweet lie
of transcendence
its drive protects
from sadness
that need not be fixed
promising that never again
will we be human
promising that life is
a moment away
from being conquered
how noble
how naïve
The lie of transcendence often wears the mask of enlightenment. You’ve exposed its face—noble, yes… but also a little afraid.
I found it really interesting — it felt like a mirror image of my own way of thinking.
I’m looking forward to reading more of your work! ☺️
